Austin, TX - The CAS Group/PCAP/ZERO Cancer Branden Peterson Racing Honda SI driven by Johan Schwartz (the 2015 World Challenge Touring Car Spec B Season Champion) made its first appearance on the track for 2016 at Circuit Of The Americas, March 3rd - 6th. On Thursday, after receiving its annual technical inspection, Schwartz took the car out for qualification for the first of two races. In Qualifying, Schwartz showed why he was so successful last year in Pirelli World Challenge by placing Branden Peterson Racing’s number 46 Honda SI on the pole.

On Friday morning, Johan Schwartz lead the TCA class which followed the TC class to the green flag using a rolling start. Climbing the hill, Schwartz and the second place-starting car driven by Jason Wolf quickly caught the tail end of the TC class. By turn three, they began to mix and fought for the racing line as they passed through the slower part of the TC field, when contact with one of the TC competitors destroyed the right front tire and wheel on the 46 Honda. Schwartz was able to get the race care back to the pits on its own power where repairs were made by the CAS Group/PCAP/ZERO Cancer pit crew, returning the car back to racing with just a few laps down. Schwartz was then able to turn the third fastest lap of the race which would qualify the 46 Honda for the third starting position for Race Two on Saturday.

Extensive repairs were made overnight to the right front of the number 46 Honda. Branden Peterson Racing and Schwartz lined up for the starting grid and the Fan Walk. The race started with a standing start. Schwartz was able to hold his position until the left rear hub assembly broke, which sent the race car into a violent spin. Schwartz used all of his driving skill and experience to keep the car off of the wall, but that was the end to racing for the weekend.

Special thanks to all the sponsors and parts suppliers who made it possible for the CAS Group/PCAP/ZERO Cancer Branden Peterson Honda SI to be at the Circuit Of The Americas, the first of many possible races in 2016.

Milwaukee, WI- Branden Peterson Racing enjoyed a successful weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake,WI, competing in the World Challenge TCA. The weekend was off to a great start with Driver Patrick Seguin running 2nd fastest in 1st practice. Unfortunately, he fell to 9th, come Qualifying. Race 1 finished with Patrick running hard to a 5th place finish. We also had a 5th place for Race 2. Come Race 3, driver Patrick Seguin was determined to stand on the podium before the end of the weekend, and sure enough--he finished with a 3rd place as a satisfying capstone to the weekend.

Next race will beat Mid-Ohio Aug 15th.

Branden Peterson Racing arrived at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with driver Patrick Seguin for rounds four through six, where the team continued to show advancement from the opening rounds at Circuit of the Americas. Improvements made to the #49 Honda Civic SI paid off as the team finished fourth in the first race of the weekend. The second race on Saturday finished with Patrick on the podium in third place. Highlighting the weekend after a number of improvements were made in the balance of the #49 Team Ost Racing/Nutrimind Civic SI, was another podium appearance on Sunday--with Patrick Seguin and Branden Peterson Racing taking Second Place!

The Motorsport course challenged the team to not only get handling right, but it also required Branden Peterson Racing to get the most performance possible from the race car, carrying it smoothly and quickly through the many elevation changes and high speed corners presented to driver Patrick Seguin. This was no more evident than in the last race of the weekend, round six. While coming off of a full course yellow during the later stages of the race, Patrick made a number of successful passes and received the Hard Charger Award. He was also just two-thirds of a car length from winning the race at the finish line. Branden Peterson Racing is very grateful for the continued sponsorship from Swift Springs, Fortune Auto shocks, Competition Clutch, Hasport, Skunk2 Racing, TRAKLite Wheels, Hondata, and HPD. The team is also proud to have new sponsor Nutrimind, which has helped the #49 Honda Civic SI complete all of its races this season as a top five finisher, including two podium finishes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park placing the team in second place in the 2015 World Challenge TCA Seasonal Points Championship Chase! Check out the action on CBS Sports Network, May 27 at 7pm EST: TC, TCA, and TCB. Next race is Friday, June 26 - Sunday, June 28 at Road America

Branden Peterson Racing began the 2015 World Challenge Season strong at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The first race event of the season for Branden Peterson Racing with Patrick Seguin as driver of the #49 2013 Honda Civic produced three high finishes.

The race weekend started off with set up on Wednesday. Many teams arrived late due to very unusual cold, wind, rain and at times, snow. Thursday practice began with strong winds and cold temperatures making it difficult to get tires up to operating range. Many items needed to be sorted out in the BPRacing #49 because of a reclassification from Touring Car to Touring Car A. This reclassification required motor changes along with brake, suspension and other minor adjustments. The first test session helped determine that a number of adjustments to the set-up were needed to make the car quicker through some of the turn sequences that makes Circuit of the Americas such a uniquely challenging course.

The first of three races was run on Saturday morning. Patrick qualified seventh on Friday during the qualifying session. The race started with a rolling start and Patrick was able to work his way up to a fifth place, after a lot of bumping during the race. Quick repairs were needed to the suspension and body to get the #49 Civic ready for the Saturday afternoon race. Starting position for the second race on Saturday was determined by the fastest laps turned by the participants in the first race. The #49 Honda Civic SI started from a standing start in the 7th position and was able to finish fifth after a hard-fought race with a number of challengers.

The third and final race was Sunday afternoon in the rain. The TCA race was the last of a number of other World Challenge races that day, and it began on a wet track. Patrick started in 5th position. He moved through the field on a wet and slippery track, staying out of trouble to finish a strong fourth after making a number of good passes on drivers and cars who struggled with wet track conditions.

We have to give a big thank you to TRAKLite Wheels (www.traklitewheels.com), for coming on board for the 2015 season. Their light-weight Flow Forming technology dramatically reduces weight, while enhancing the structural rigidity. They make for a great performance enhancement in the very competitive environment of World Challenge. In addition, a big thank you to Skunk 2 Racing (www.skunk2.com) for getting the best performing header and exhaust for our new engine rules, keeping on top of the HP game.

The Branden Peterson Racing Team, with Patrick Seguin driving, finished a strong race weekend at Circuit of the Americas with excited optimism for the next races in May at Mosport International Raceway in Ontario, Canada--not far from the home of our driver, Patrick Seguin.

Branden Peterson Racing Returns To The Track With Two Top Ten Finishes At Mid-Ohio
A brand new Honda Civic SI #64 driven by Bob Roth and Branden Peterson made its race debut at Mid-Ohio dual race weekend, finishing well in the final standings for each of the two races. The new Honda Civic was made possible by Fortune Auto, Swift Springs, Skunk2, Competition Clutch, Supertech Performance, Hondata, Revolutions Performance and Hasport Engine Mounts. The #64 Civic finished in seventh place on Friday August 1st, driven by Bob Roth on a rain-soaked track. Branden Peterson drove the race car on Saturday and brought it home in sixth place.

The new Honda was built by Branden Peterson and finished this Summer. It had been tested at High Plains Raceway prior to competing at Mid-Ohio. Testing at Track Day at Mid-Ohio on Thursday went well with a few suspension adjustments. Friday morning practice resulted in a broken windshield causing the team to miss Qualifying, but the they were able to replace it in time to make Friday afternoon's race driven by Bob Roth. Bob used his extensive wet driving experience to expertly move up through the field. By lap four, Bob had moved up to third place on a damp track. Many of the race cars started on the Pirelli slick tires with only a few changing to rain tires on the warm-up laps. As the track dried, Bob fought hard to keep his position but faded to seventh place.

Branden Peterson took driving duties over for the second race of the weekend, which was contested late on Saturday afternoon. The #64 Civic again started from the back of the field because of changing drivers (qualifying for Saturday’s race was based on driver’s best time from Friday’s race). However, with a good standing-start and a well-prepared race car, Branden was able to move up through the field into seventh place. Midway through the race, after pressing for a number of laps he was able to make the pass for sixth place and retained the position for the remainder of the race.

Much was learned from the first weekend of racing for the #64 Honda. Changes and improvements to make the Honda Civic SI more competitive for rounds 13 and 14 are under way, in preparation for the Pirelli World Challenge at Miller Sports complex in September. Branden Peterson Racing would like to thank Trane for its Mid-Ohio race weekend sponsorship.
